He is considering the purchase of Pasture, Rangeland, Forage Rainfall Index (RI-PRF) insurance coverage on 1,200 acres of non-irrigated range. RI-PRF is designed to offer protection against revenue losses resulting from decreased forage production, using a rainfall index to indicate low precipitation levels.
