{"id":629,"date":"2015-09-03T12:00:23","date_gmt":"2015-09-03T12:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rightrisk.org\/news\/?p=629"},"modified":"2015-09-03T17:25:37","modified_gmt":"2015-09-03T17:25:37","slug":"prf-insurance-changes-for-2016-and-beyond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rightrisk.org\/news\/2015\/09\/03\/prf-insurance-changes-for-2016-and-beyond\/","title":{"rendered":"PRF Insurance: Changes for 2016 and Beyond"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a target=_blank href=\"http:\/\/www.uwagec.org\/rightrisk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/2015_09_03_RRNewsrelease.pdf\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_001\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" style=\"width: 210px\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-001\" title=\"RightRisk Newsrelease\" src=\"http:\/\/www.uwagec.org\/rightrisk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/RRNR_20150903.png\" alt=\"Graphic of RightRisk Newsrelease\" width=\"200\" height=\"260\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>T<\/strong>he Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) Board of Directors (Board) recently approved the following modifications to the Pasture, Rangeland, Forage (PRF) pilot program beginning with the 2016 crop year:<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\u2022 Replace the Vegetation Index-PRF (VI-PRF) with the Rainfall Index (RI-PRF) program in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, and Wyoming;<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\u2022 Expand RI-PRF to 19 states;<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\u2022 Revise the pricing methodology for both haying and grazing practices;<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\u2022 Add an irrigated practice for haying in specific states to address added irrigation costs;<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\u2022 Add an irrigated and non-irrigated practice reporting requirements on the acreage report; and<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\u2022 Remove the RI capping process for PRF only. The capping process remains for Apiculture (API) and Annual Forage.<\/p>\n<p>Producers currently enrolled in the VI-PRF pilot are eligible for the RI-PRF pilot. Qualified producers who were enrolled in the VI-PRF pilot programs in 2015 and who enroll in the RI-PRF pilot for 2015 will be considered carry-over insureds and will not have a break in continuity for insurance coverage purposes. <\/p>\n<p>Producers who previously purchased VI-PRF must complete a new application prior to the sales closing date if they wish to obtain RI-PRF. Producers must use the Grid ID Locator found on the RMA web site at: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rma.usda.gov\/policies\/pasturerangeforage\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.rma.usda.gov\/policies\/pasturerangeforage<\/a> to establish the grid id for the RI-PRF program.<\/p>\n<p>Sign up for RI-PRF ends with the sales closing date: November 15, 2015.
