In response to the severe drought conditions in the West and Great Plains, the U.S. ­Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that it plans to help cover the cost of transporting feed for livestock that rely on grazing. In addition,USDA announced that it will provide ­additional time for livestock and poultry producers to apply for the Pandemic Livestock Indemnity Program (PLIP).
