THE RISK MITIGATION FILTER is a compact screening form carrying one status quo row plus up to five alternatives the producer selects for the decision at hand. Each row is rated across eight criteria: problem fit, risk source, control type, feasibility, up-front cost, recurring cost, failure consequence, and next step. Ratings entered on the form reflect the producer’s own judgment about the operation being evaluated, and the form does not recommend an outcome.
